New Avant Attachments

Fence mower

Fence mower is the perfect attachment for cutting grass under fences, roadside crash barriers, around trees etc. It can also be used to remove weed from road banks, around cornerstones and near buildings. The fence mower manoeuvres around fence posts easily: when the cutting head comes in contact with the post, the extension spring that is mounted between the mower frame and cutting head retracts the cutting head back after touching the post, allowing a smooth operation around the post. The tension and fastening point of the extension spring can be adjusted. In addition, there is a vertical floating system with 4 positions for aligning the cutting head.

Tree boom

Tree boom is a simple and practical attachment for handling bigger tree trunks, pipes etc. objects which need to be lifted and placed with accuracy. It is otherwise the same attachment as the Avant big bag transporter A36221, but the manually adjustable telescoping boom doesn’t have a hook – instead the boom is straight and equipped with a pin for attaching lifting slings. This allows, for instance, lifting and planting bigger trees without the risk of damaging them. The frame design with side supports prevents the objects from swinging sideways.

Spring tine cultivator

The towable spring tine cultivator with 1500 mm working width is a useful attachment for the maintenance of outdoor horse arenas, for cultivating fields etc. There are 15 spring loaded S tines with replaceable teeth in two rows which cultivate the soil up to 100 mm depth, adjusted with the rear field roller. The design is basically the same as on the horse arena harrow, however the horse arena harrow with straight tines is intended just for levelling the surface whereas the spring tine cultivator digs deeper. That’s why it is suited for arenas with gravel or sand sub-base – where there is no geotextile fabric, rubber or other materials which the tines could dig up. The cultivator is also a great tool for a hobby farmer on smaller fields.

Thumb grab for mini digger

Hydraulic thumb grab is now available as an option also for the mini digger 150. It can be mounted on mini diggers 150 made in January 2021 or later, and can also be retrofitted to older mini diggers by drilling holes for thumb grab cylinder brackets to the digger arm. Thumb grab is useful when handling stones and similar objects which cannot be grabbed with the bucket of the mini digger. Thumb grab and mini digger bucket cannot be operated simultaneously – there is an electric solenoid valve for selecting either the thumb grab or bucket operation. Selection happens either with a switch on the optional Opticontrol® control switch pack (recommended) or with the switch on the electric wire which is delivered with the thumb grab and connected on the 12V outlet on the dashboard of the loader. Thumb grab and bucket movements are then controlled with the auxiliary hydraulics control lever or with the red and blue buttons on the joystick (if fitted on the loader).

New Avant attachments & options

Leaf Blower

With the leaf blower you can easily and quickly move away large amount of leaves from lawns, yards, sidewalks etc. The hydraulic motor powered blower is very efficient and the big tiltable nozzle blows the leaves away from a large area. The leaf blower is equipped with electric rotation which allows pointing of airflow exactly to desired direction. Rotation angle is 90° to the left and 145° to the right from the straight forward pointing direction – 235° altogether. Vertical adjustment of the nozzle is manual as standard; stepless electric adjustment is available as an option.

Push Broom

The updated push brooms feature stronger bristles and a new layout: the broom consists of individual brush strips installed in five rows, which means they can be easily replaced if necessary. Thanks to this design the push broom is well suited for sweeping of hard surfaces and also for e.g. arborists, for cleaning the branches and leaves and similar debris from lawns and yards: by removing the brush strip in the middle there is more room for lighter but larger material. Available as an option are short side brushes which mount on each end of the broom. They give the push broom the ”U” shape which means that debris cannot escape to the side.

Rough Terrain Forklift here in South Africa

RoughTerrainForklift_SouthAfrica

Avant makes a multipurpose machine which can also be utilised as a rough terrain forklift.
Because of its compactness, the machine can go anywhere including tights spots and small confined spaces.
The lifting capacity of the Avant is such that it can almost handle its own weight in lifting capacity.
Capable in rough terrain because of its all-wheel drive hydrostatic driven transmission, it is has a drive release system and anti-slip option which enables maximum traction which in turn acts as a diff lock system on a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
This creates maximum traction on all wheels to which no rival on the South African market can compete with.

The all-round visibility on the machine makes it a much better option a then a Skid steer without the weight of a Skid steer in a related sized product.
Less weight equals less impaction on the ground such as orchards and vineyards and sensitive surfaces.
The size of the Avant machine makes it versatile that it can be used during harvest as a forklift and out of season for other tasks on the farm such as drilling holes, digging and trenching, mowing lawn and mulching to name a few.

Mini Excavator and Digger here in South Africa

MiniDiggerSouthAfrica

Another option offered by the Avant (South Africa) range is to turn your machine into an excavator or digger by adding the quick-attach backhoe to the front of the machine (not the back) which makes operating the machine much easier.
The backhoe is designed so that the operator does not have to get out the machine to operate it.
Another big plus is the excellent visibility the operator has from within the machine whilst they are digging.
There are various options of digging arms and backhoes to suit each machine and as mentioned in the Mini Loader article, the Avant machine is far better suited than tracked machines because of its size, weight, transportability and maneuverability. Tracked driven machines damage the surface it works on where as the Avant is tough as nail, but the surface damage is minimal.
